Community
Give something back
What gets you motivated? Sports? Art? Music? Youth? Getting people to the museum or the Opera? Helping kids and parents who can’t afford to play sports? Stop students from dropping out? Breaking a Guinness World Record? Meet business people who like boating? You can organize, volunteer, sponsor, encourage and/or facilitate more than you think. There is probably a group of people somewhere who feel the same way. If not, start one!
Partnerships
Having access to more resources
Similar to the community approach, why not partner with another company or organization to accomplish something important? Once you have a clear goal, identifying potential partners and organizing the partnership can produce tremendous results.
Events
Meeting face-to-face
Meeting people is still the best way to do business and to grow your network. There are tons of events going on every day in town, with people you want to meet. Organizing your own events is also a great way to go, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Come on - meet more people!
Values
Actions speak louder than words
Good corporate communication starts within. If you are growing, it is vital to review and renew your organization’s Vision, Mission & Values. Then they must be shared with everyone in the company – to make sure everyone knows where you are heading, and how to get there. This is where your leadership comes through.
